  2. Is That You I Hear? Speaker Familiarity Modulates Neural Signatures of Lexical-semantic Activation in 18-month-old Infants

develops between 18 and 24 months of age in monolingual infants. In the present study we aimed to examine lexical-semantic activation in the infant brain. We recorded the brain activity of 18-month-old French-learning before the experiment and one voice with which they were not familiarized. The ERPs were measured in response target words over the left hemisphere only for the familiar voice suggesting that the voice familiarity less mature. Our results show that even in the absence of personal relation with a speaker familiarity with Is That You I Hear? Speaker Familiarity Modulates Neural Signatures of Lexical-semantic Activation in

Science of the Total Environment Political responses to the COVID-19 pandemic led to changes in city soundscapes around the globe. From March including observational descriptions of the local areas from the contributors open-source environmental and calculation of acoustic descriptors. We performed a technical validation of the dataset using statistical a subset of manually annotated soundscapes. Results confirmed the large-scale usability of ecoacoustic A dataset of acoustic measurements from soundscapes collected worldwide during the COVID-19 pandemic

  5. Modeling fine-grained sociolinguistic variation. The promises and pitfalls of Twitter corpora and neural word embeddings

describe in detail coarse-grained annotation provides an efficient way of circumventing them. We use the results custom-built corpus of tweets Mileti et al. 2020 and neural word embeddings to investigate the use of contact-induced shifts in Quebec English. Drawing on an analysis of 40 lexical items we show that our approach is beneficial beneficial in facilitating manual inspection of vast amounts of data and establishing fine-grained patterns patterns of language variation. While it is affected by a range of noise-related issues which we describe fine-grained sociolinguistic variation. The promises and pitfalls of Twitter corpora and neural word embeddings

alterations on the land-cover. This challenges the hypothesis that vegetation in the Mid-Holocene was in a relatively contributes valuable insights to the onset of agriculture as the start of the Anthropocene. Lire la suite Assessment of past anthropogenic modifications of land-cover dynamics is key to understanding the human role role in the Earth system. Recent advances in palaeoenvironmental sciences allow us to assess the long-term form of a human pressure index HPI . Patterns of spatio-temporal evolution of the HPI agree with previously 60% increase in anthropogenic land-cover modifications throughout the second half of the Holocene. Population land use. High HPI values in the Mid-Holocene suggest significant impact of early agricultural and pre-agricultural time-cumulative human impact on European land-cover of second half of the Holocene
