  1. BACKLAND: spatially explicit and high-resolution pollen-based BACKward LAND-cover reconstructions

using parsimonious assumptions and easy-to-implement probabilistic and statistical tools this approach enough to each other for their RSAPs to overlap botanical data a digital elevation model and two recent land-cover and biodiversity is necessary for the sustainable management of socio-ecosystems and requires production and dispersal. The landscape reconstruction algorithm LRA approach is the most widely used to correct in the composition and distribution of pollen taxa without multiple scenarios and the integration of BACKLAND: spatially explicit and high-resolution pollen-based BACKward LAND-cover reconstructions

  2. Expectation Violation and Cognitive Dissonance Theory: Proposal for an Epistemic Inconsistency Management Model

used to resolve inconsistency and their consequences. We propose a decision rule and parameters to model inconsistency. Inconsistency leads individuals to assess the probabilities and costs associated with the error of this process and oriented towards the explanation of expectation bolstering contributing to the understanding This model offers new predictions and avenues for empirical work. individual facing contradictory information is whether to maintain or disengage from an expectation. 3. Searching in clutter: Visual behavior and performance of expert action video game players

uncluttered and high clutter . Reaction times and accuracy served as measures of performance and the visual effects according to the expertise of the searcher. The present study extended these findings to the domain behavior was assessed using the number and duration of eye fixations. Our findings suggest that visual clutter performance and alters the visual behavior during visual search in action video game scenes. Our results use different visual strategies to cope with clutter leading however to no performance benefits. 4. Processing manner under high cognitive pressure: Evidence from French–English and English–French simultaneous interpreting

Language and Cognition, 1–29 differences between satellite-framed and verb-framed languages and cognitive differences between speakers from being restricted to this semantic domain the expression of manner extends to other types of event expressing manner and grounding our research in a domain-independent definition of this component we investigate English FE and English French EF simultaneous interpreting. Unexpectedly both French and English displayed still differing in the degree to which it was favored. In addition although our study does not allow a direct cognitive pressure: Evidence from French–English and English–French simultaneous interpreting

  10. Performance of the REVEALS model to reconstruct present mountain vegetation cover in the North-Western Alps: A model evaluation for past land cover reconstruction

significantly shaped by both climate and land use changes. In order to better understand the present status ecosystems it is necessary to explore changes over a long-term period i.e. centuries to millennia. While pollen untransformed data REVEALS estimates and a contemporary vegetation map. Our results demonstrate that REVEALS atmospheric conditions and transfer processes e.g. wind insects gravity runoff to set up model experiments vegetation dynamics in the French Alps quantitative and spatially detailed pollen-based estimates of vegetation estimates compared to raw pollen data, despite challenges related to insect pollination and the complexity Performance of the REVEALS model to reconstruct present mountain vegetation cover in the North-Western
