  1. Conférence : Clinical psychometrics: thinking sensibly in our 'post-p-values' world

Actualités I'll argue that we need to change our thinking about psychometrics in line with how we will be changing within statistics that go back nearly a century but link with huge concerns about the replication crisis there. In this seminar I'll say a little about my 30 years of work with clinical and some less clinical research. Some not all of the crisis does come from a long tradition in all fields that use statistics of References Abelson R. P. 1995 . Statistics as principled argument. L. Erlbaum Associates. Matthews R

  3. Nile waterscapes facilitated the construction of the Giza pyramids during the 3rd millennium BCE

Agenda_TRACES variations on the Giza floodplain. After a high-stand level concomitant with the African Humid Period our results waterscapes responded to a gradual insolation-driven aridification of East Africa with the lowest Nile levels PNAS site The pyramids of Giza originally overlooked a now defunct arm of the Nile. This fluvial channel environmental history is unclear. To fill this knowledge gap we use pollen-derived vegetation patterns to reconstruct the Dynastic Period. The Khufu branch remained at a high-water level 40 of its Holocene maximum during

However specifying mechanisms

  10. More than agriculture: Analysing time-cumulative human impact on European land-cover of second half of the Holocene

6000 years by comparing two independent datasets. We use a dynamic vegetation model forced by debiased climate attributed to human activity and quantified in a form of a human pressure index HPI . Patterns of spatio-temporal scenarios indicate a rapid increase of the human pressure around 1200 1700 BP and a significant increase interpreted as the potential natural vegetation. We use pollen-based reconstructions which intrinsically spatio-temporal evolution of the HPI agree with previously published data about the spread of agriculture Holocene. Population estimates correlate with HPI and agree with previously published data on land use.
