  1. Communicating Agent-based Models to Stakeholders: A Scoping Review - Journal of Artificial Societies & Social

methods and tools used to convey a model s structure function and results to facilitate understanding primarily due to challenges in effectively communicating these models. Communicating ABMs to stakeholders This paper contributes to the field by offering actionable recommendations to improve transparency stakeholder ecology natural resource management and policy planning to simulate complex systems. However their adoption communication. Three major issues emerge 1 limited efforts to support the use of existing ABMs 2 insufficient emphasis effectively communicating agent-based models (ABMs) to stakeholders, highlighting key challenges such as Communicating Agent-based Models to Stakeholders: A Scoping Review - Journal of Artificial Societies

  2. Evaluating the Impact of Time-to-Collision Constraint and Head Gaze on Usability for Robot Navigation in a Corridor

crossing a human in a narrow corridor in order to increase its usability. Two experiments studied how a combination article aims at finding how an anthropomorphic robot like a PR2 robot with a height of 1.33 m should enhance robot legibility. Experiment 1 aimed to measure where a pedestrian looks when crossing another pedestrian human or a robot. Based on the results of this experiment and the literature we then designed a robot behavior both modifying its trajectory to be more legible and using its head to glance at the human. 6. A Data-Driven Paradigm Shift for the Middle-to-Upper Palaeolithic Transition and the Neandertal Debate

diversity cannot be reduced to a taxonomic dichotomy. As human biology varied in a continuous space and material technocomplexes start dates as did a Neandertal from Spy Belgium a site of the Ranisian. Moreover the material culture varied in a discrete space no one-to-one correspondence between the two domains can exist initial Neandertal and final Cro-Magnon terms of a complex evolutionary and historical process. Throughout exist. Advancing our understanding of the Middle-to-Upper Palaeolithic transition requires abandoning A Data-Driven Paradigm Shift for the Middle-to-Upper Palaeolithic Transition and the Neandertal Debate

  9. Combining spatial dependence occupancy models and conservation gap analyses to promote species conservation: A case study with a threatened semi-aquatic mammal

dependence is well-suited to network-constrained environments. We applied this model to a semi-aquatic mammal of the most suitable sections benefit from a moderate to strong level of protection. Some highly suitable development and additional applications to other taxa difficult-to-survey or network-constrained environments We then assessed the efficiency of the PA network to protect suitable streams for G. pyrenaicus by combining conservation gap analyses to promote species conservation: A case study with a threatened semi-aquatic

  10. Performance of the REVEALS model to reconstruct present mountain vegetation cover in the North-Western Alps: A model evaluation for past land cover reconstruction

changes over a long-term period i.e. centuries to millennia. While pollen analyses have provided a strong understanding In order to better understand the present status of mountain ecosystems it is necessary to explore changes module of the LRA scheme which aims to reconstruct vegetation at a regional scale. For this purpose we needed. Obtaining such estimates is challenging due to the complexity of mountain landscapes resulting from pollen data untransformed data REVEALS estimates and a contemporary vegetation map. Our results demonstrate cover estimates compared to raw pollen data, despite challenges related to insect pollination and the REVEALS model to reconstruct present mountain vegetation cover in the North-Western Alps: A model evaluation
