diversity and evenness varied widely indicating a mix of species-rich and more uniform habitats and reflecting Filipendula and Plantago indicate diverse open and semi-open habitats shaped by disturbances and hydrological open vegetation 21 closed forests and 63 light woodlands reflecting high fine-scale heterogeneity. Importantly conservation and rewilding particularly in maintaining diversity through disturbance and megafaunal interactions local-regional correlations highlight the importance of localised drivers. Longitude and to a lesser extent precipitation local disturbances and megafauna, challenging the traditional closed-forest paradigm and providing insights insights for modern conservation and rewilding efforts.

durée we can hope to fully understand such processes and their implications. In this article we identify sustainability science and suggest some useful ways forward. Specifically we highlight the potential of the complex non-linear feedback processes and cascading effects. We argue that it is only by studying human transdisciplinary work across large and multiple geographical and temporal scales. Our goal is to provide evolution of these ecosystems has been undeniable and extensively documented it remains unclear precisely
