The richness and the long chronology of characterisation of the landscape surrounding those rock art and settlement sites attributed to the Upper Palaeolithic This led to recognition of some features linked to the two site typologies. 7. More than agriculture: Analysing time-cumulative human impact on European land-cover of second half of the Holocene

natural state and contributes valuable insights to the onset of agriculture as the start of the Anthropocene influence. The discrepancies between the two datasets are attributed to human activity and quantified modifications of land-cover dynamics is key to understanding the human role in the Earth system. Recent advances in sciences allow us to assess the long-term impacts of anthropization on ecosystems landscapes and land-cover Our study aims to evaluate the role of human impact on European land-cover over the past 6000 years throughout the second half of the Holocene. Population estimates correlate with HPI and agree with previously High HPI values in the Mid-Holocene suggest significant impact of early agricultural and pre-agricultural impact on European land-cover of second half of the Holocene

  8. Holocene glacier evolution in the Pyrenees based on 36Cl cosmic-ray exposure dating (Troumouse Cirque, Pyrenees National Park)

site in the Pyrenees or in the Alps elsewhere in Europe. We tentatively link this moraine to the 8.2 ka deposits in the vicinity of the moraines. Finally based on archeological evidence construction and ceramic constrained except for the Little Ice Age period. In this study we attempt to bridge this knowledge gap 5 ka 7.8 1.1 ka 3.0 0.6 ka and 972 208 yr were obtained constituting the most robust directly dated Holocene Holocene glacier chronology in the Pyrenees. The moraine age of 7.8 1.1 ka n 5 is a novel finding as Holocene glacier evolution in the Pyrenees based on 36Cl cosmic-ray exposure dating (Troumouse Cirque
