  1. New times in old forests : How the past matters in European forest science

evolved identifying the emergence of two new temporalities in old forest science. Over the study period changing peer-reviewed articles published in ecology and forestry we characterize the temporal features of old European This article tracks changing conceptions of time in European forest science over recent decades and accounts 1997 2017 trace how new and changing temporalities in forest science have reconfigured what constitutes problem for conservationists and managers. We describe in particular how two articulations of forest time and New times in old forests : How the past matters in European forest science

  4. Beyond the closed-forest paradigm: Cross-scale vegetation structure in temperate Europe before the late-Quaternary megafauna extinctions

variation in local vegetation openness but heterogeneity remained unexplained emphasising the role of disturbance for frequent fire activities in this period. These findings challenge the closed forest paradigm for interglacials The Last Interglacial 129 000 116 000 years ago provides key insights into temperate European vegetation Importantly weak local-regional correlations highlight the importance of localised drivers. Longitude and to Interglacial vegetation complexity offers insights into the biodiversity and ecological functionality of pre-anthropogenic This study reconstructs Last Interglacial vegetation in temperate Europe, revealing a highly heterogeneous by local disturbances and megafauna, challenging the traditional closed-forest paradigm and providing Beyond the closed-forest paradigm: Cross-scale vegetation structure in temperate Europe before the late-Quaternary

  6. Spatial and temporal patterns of upland vegetation over the last 200 years in the northern pyrenees: Example from the Bassiès valley, Ariège, France

study assesses the potential of the Landscape Reconstruction Algorithm LRA to reconstruct the spatial and patterns of upland vegetation in the Bassiès Valley northern Pyrenees over the last 200 years a period characterised activity. The quantification of past vegetation dynamics provides opportunities for bridging the gap between pollen data due to their lack of spatial dimension and the inter-taxonomic differences in pollen production to evaluate the LRA-based reconstruction of local land-cover. The LRA approach was then used to reconstruct présenter son 1er article rédigé dans le cadre de sa thèse "Biodiversité et histoire des changements d'utilisation upland vegetation over the last 200 years in the northern pyrenees: Example from the Bassiès valley, Ariège
