  2. Are the remnants of old-growth mountain forests always relevant to inspire close-to-nature forest management and efficient biodiversity conservation?

iii discuss the relevance of the current AMF network for biodiversity conservation. We used a set of 10 investigations at a regional scale to better understand the influence of past-human activity on the spatial mainly in the boreal zone or in mountainous areas such as the Pyrenees where both ancient i.e. with a high for most of the variables tested but effect sizes were rather weak with the exceptions of the occurrence biodiversity conservation beyond the case of the northern slope of the Pyrenees. 3. DEEP-C Consortium: Carbon sink or methane source – local to global scale assessment of lentic waters’ role in the climate system

from the beginning of the Industrial Period we will use it to hindcast the evolution since the mid-Holocene cover and climate. But the development and evaluation of such models is hampered by the lack of observations light on the anthropogenic perturbation of the C cycle in this earlier part of human history which is commonly In WP3 we will use the land surface model LSM ORCHIDEE C-lateral to assess C cycling in the terrestrial validation. Moreover we develop a new process-based lake C model supported by the database established global scale assessment of lentic waters’ role in the climate system
