  2. Thinking coexistence in human-dominated landscapes with the lens of multi-species assemblages: Farmers, brown bears and other wild species in the Pyrenees

has become a major issue for conservation science. To date however most studies focus on a dual relationship return of bears in a human-dominated landscape has transformed wildlife agency i.e. the capacity of non-humans achieved by taking as a state of reference apparently peaceful yet unbalanced relationships of humans with other Rather it necessitates a change in perspective acknowledging the full legitimacy of non-humans in shaping use of space and predatory behaviour constraining pastoralists to adapt and transforming some of their human-dominated landscapes through their agency, necessitating a shift in perspective to recognize non-humans as active coexistence in human-dominated landscapes with the lens of multi-species assemblages: Farmers, brown bears and

  3. Spatial and temporal patterns of upland vegetation over the last 200 years in the northern pyrenees: Example from the Bassiès valley, Ariège, France

Quantitative estimates of past vegetation with a clearly defined spatial scale are a critical step to better patterns of upland vegetation in the Bassiès Valley northern Pyrenees over the last 200 years a period period characterised by a decline of traditional pastoral activities. We used well-dated pollen records from land-cover data within a 1-km radius from each site to evaluate the LRA-based reconstruction of local land-cover activity. The quantification of past vegetation dynamics provides opportunities for bridging the gap between Clara Plancher, doctorante au laboratoire GEODE a le plaisir de vous présenter son 1er article rédigé Spatial and temporal patterns of upland vegetation over the last 200 years in the northern pyrenees:

  4. Are the remnants of old-growth mountain forests always relevant to inspire close-to-nature forest management and efficient biodiversity conservation?

identified as a high priority for biodiversity conservation and for identifying benchmarks for biodiversity-friendly the relevance of the current AMF network for biodiversity conservation. We used a set of 10 344 1 ha-plots forests for most of the variables tested but effect sizes were rather weak with the exceptions of the occurrence the Pyrenees where both ancient i.e. with a high degree of continuity and mature i.e. with old-growth that explain the current location of AMFs ii assess the potential of these AMFs as reference ecosystems Vanessa Py-saragaglia ont été associés à cette étude qui vise à (1) identifier les facteurs qui expliquent anciennes et matures, à (2) évaluer leur potentiel en tant qu’écosystèmes de référence et à (3) discuter de Ce travail a été piloté par Laurent Larrieu (Dynafor, CRNF-CRPF) et Antoine Brin (INPT Purpan, Dynafor) groupe d’étude des vieilles forêts pyrénéennes auquel a participé Nicolas Gouix. 5. DEEP-C Consortium: Carbon sink or methane source – local to global scale assessment of lentic waters’ role in the climate system

Both the burial of C in lakes and the emissions of GHGs are crucial components of Earth's climate system modeling of terrestrial and aquatic biogeochemistry. This project will put forth a national program of systematic sequestration or recycling of organic carbon. This effort will be complemented with a synthesis of existing data WP1 excluded from this type of research due to lack of information. The activities of these two first WPs will and methane CH4 a potent greenhouse gas GHG . 6. The impact of immersion and presence on information retention in virtual reality training: findings from the deffinum learn project, INTED 2025 proceedings

sense of presence and that the sense of presence would in turn impact information retention. A quasi-experimental between the sense of presence and information retention suggesting that a stronger sense of presence leads level of immersion significantly impacted the sense of presence with virtual reality leading to a higher sense of presence than the tablet. These findings contribute to the understanding of the use of immersive emphasizing the importance of creating experiences that foster a strong sense of presence to maximize learning The impact of immersion and presence on information retention in virtual reality training: findings from
