  2. More than agriculture: Analysing time-cumulative human impact on European land-cover of second half of the Holocene

vegetation distribution is interpreted as the potential natural vegetation. We use pollen-based reconstructions anthropogenic modifications of land-cover dynamics is key to understanding the human role in the Earth anthropization on ecosystems landscapes and land-cover. Our study aims to evaluate the role of human impact on 6000 years by comparing two independent datasets. We use a dynamic vegetation model forced by debiased Holocene. However initially high HPI values up to 70 at 5700 6200 BP which correlate with population estimates

  3. Development of a multi-isotopic (Pb, Fe, Cu) analytical protocol in gold matrices for ancient coin provenance studies

isotopes may give information on the ore type i.e. supergene versus hydrothermal or igneous. We thus adapted Plasma Mass Spectrometry MC-ICP-MS . Our results show that it is possible to obtain precise and accurate reflecting various elemental compositions. We characterized our gold test coins with the following uncertainties or ore. In contrast isotope analysis may offer valuable insight into provenance studies. For instance questions such as the provenance of ancient gold coins is then emphasized. The combination of Pb Fe and Cu

  6. Conférence Octogone-Lordat : Accented Speech Perception (Clara Martin, BCBL, San Sebastian)

comprehension is modulated when a native listener is facing a non-native speaker. In the project we explored advances on our knowledge on sentence discourse comprehension. The results we obtained are relevant at the pragmatic foreign speakers and at the theoretical level showing how sentence comprehension is recalibrated on-line pragmatic processing. Regarding syntactic processing we showed that the way the brain reacts to grammatical errors in real life. Regarding the semantic level we showed that processing of semantic violations differ

  7. Past disturbances shape present tree size distribution in European temperate primary beech-dominated forests

conservation. We addressed two main questions 1 Is there variability in tree size distributions at both the models we assessed how historical disturbances have influenced current tree size distributions. Our results reverse-J shaped patterns. Specifically at the plot level small scale we observed that last disturbance severity affecting ecosystem dynamics. However detailed information on historical disturbances and their specific shaping these distributions To address these questions we analyzed data from 11 755 trees across 23 primary interaction between disturbance severity and timing is crucial in shaping forest structure.

  10. Exploring Semantic Variation in the Contexts of Concrete and Abstract Words

properties of concrete and abstract words by looking at their contextual co-occurrences in corpora. In this Specifically I will address the following questions 1 What is the overall distribution of concreteness in the contexts contexts of concrete and abstract target words 2 What is the relationship in terms of concreteness between direct and prepositional object with each other 3 Are our contextual models in line with existing theories a more fine-grained description of their nature. At the same time they reveal empirical evidence why
